National Service Scheme

Regular Activities

Any student enrolled as NSS volunteer should undertake various programmes in the adopted villages and University campus atleast 120 hours in a year for a continuous of two years. The volunteer should participate fully in the NSS programmes and should be conversant with the objectives of NSS. The NSS units organize the regular activities as detailed below:

  • General orientation of NSS Volunteers – 20 hrs.
  • Career guidance for the NSS volunteers – 30 hrs.
  • Community work including Campus work and observation and celebration of National important days – 70 hrs.
Special Camping

Special Camping forms an integral part of National Service Scheme. It has special appeal to the youth as it provides unique opportunities to the students for group living, collective experience, sharing and constant interaction with community. Under this, camps of 7days duration are organized in adopted villages with some specific themes by involving local communities. 50 percent of NSS volunteers are expected to participate in these camps.
